Matrix auf HD-DVD

Am 22. Mai wird in den Staaten die HD-DVD Fassung der Matrix-Filme veröffentlicht. Angeboten werden zwei Box-Sets, einmal die Ultimate Collection für ca. 120 Dollar, welche identisch ist mit derjenigen auf normalen DVDs, und aus 5 doppelseitigen HD-DVDs besteht, und einmal als The Complete Matrix Trilogy für ca. 100 Dollar, welche nur aus den 3 HD-DVDs mit den Filmen und ihren jeweiligen Extras besteht, und auf die Animatrix-Kurzfilme und weitere Zusätze auf der fünften Silberscheibe der Ultimate Collection verzichtet.
Wann die HD-DVD Fassung in Deutschland erscheinen wird, ist noch nicht bekannt. Die Blu-ray Fassung soll jedenfalls Ende des Jahres noch folgen. Warner Home Video schließt sich also nicht dem Kampf zwischen den beiden Formaten an, und lässt den Markt entscheiden, was sich durchsetzen wird.
